HAVANA TIMES – The opening of an exhibition titled “Symbols of the Epoch, People who Changed the World” took place at the Lenin Memorial in Ulyanovsk on March 2, with an exhibition dedicated to Ernesto “Che” Guevara and Fidel Castro.
It was attended by the Cuban ambassador to the Russian Federation Gerardo Peñalver Portal.
“We meet today to pay honor to the people who changed the world, the symbols of an epoch – Fidel Castro and Ernesto “Che” Guevara. They were destined to be united not only by a close friendship, but struggle. We are here, because these people are alive, as their ideas have won. Their legacy will last forever,” said the Cuban ambassador.
The exhibition tells about the life of these historic leaders of Cuba from their childhood and first successes to the world-wide fame. Rare pictures of Ernesto “Che” Guevara and Fidel Castro are accompanied by the works of Yosvani Martinez Pérez. The Cuban Embassy in the Russian Federation provided the exhibit with printed editions.
