HAVANA TIMES, Feb 20 — Chinese hurdler Liu Xiang beat his Cuban rival Dayron Robles on Saturday by winning the 60 meter hurdles at an indoor track meet in Birmingham, England, reported AP.
Liu covered the distance in 7.41 seconds, beating Robles (7.50) by almost a tenth of a second.
This is the first clash between these two rivals since the incident at the world championships in South Korea last year, when Robles was disqualified for obstructing his Chinese opponent.
Robles, an Olympic champion and the world record holder in the 110-meter hurdles, is preparing to defend his title this March in Istanbul.
