No Dengue Epidemic, Says Official

HAVANA TIMES, July 29 – Cases of dengue have been reported in Cuba, but there isn’t an epidemic in the country, affirmed Deputy Health Minister Luis Estruch when speaking to a legislative committee.  The principal points of concentration of the Aedes aegypti mosquito, which transmits the disease, are located in the cities of Santiago de Cuba, Camagüey, Bayamo and Pinar del Rio, reported IPS.
