OAS Discusses Cuba Today

HAVANA TIMES, May 22 – The Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS) will discuss today for the first time Cuba’s possible return to that regional body, from which it was expelled in 1962, reported IPS.

Honduras will present a draft resolution regarding the island’s reentry, although a possible return to the OAS has been rejected several times by the Cuban government, which sees the body as a poor representative of Latin American and Caribbean interests.
