Omara Portuondo and the Buena Vista Social Club Performing in Catalonia

HAVANA TIMES — The Buena Vista Social Club Orchestra and diva Omara Portuondo will be showcased today at the Castell de Peralada Festival, being held until August 22 in Spain, EFE reported.

The debut of the renowned Cuban band comes amid its “renovation process,” according to the festival organizers. New members are bringing their talent while respecting and maintaining the origins that give meaning to the initial group.

Also participating in the 26th Castillo de Peralada Festival will be artists such as Jonas Kaufmann, Agusti Charles (premiering his Java Suite), and the Barcelona Ballet with Angel Corella and Chi Cao.
