Paraguay Opts for Cuba’s Literacy Method

HAVANA TIMES, Sept 1 — Paraguay has embarked on a national literacy campaign and will use the Cuban method for teaching to read and write called “Yo si puedo” (Yes I Can).

The official in charge of the program, Marta Ramos, said that since the program began a month ago the method is being very well received.  She added that the personnel to implement the program are well prepared, reported Prensa Latina.

Ramos said the initial goal of the program is to reach 30,000 people by the end of year in different parts of the country.
