Plans for Interactive Cultural Center in the Palacio Del Segundo Cabo

HAVANA TIMES — A new cultural project is slated for the Palacio del Segundo Cabo of Old Havana for the end of 2014, in parallel with the rehabilitation of facility, reported Prensa Latina.

The project will create a dynamic and interactive center, different from the traditional style of the other museums and institutions in the historic district. It will feature several temporary exhibits, a multipurpose room, a media library and several other services throughout the 17 halls and areas.

One of the outstanding innovative elements will be the use of technology to make the historical facility more experiential. This follows staff visits to prestigious modern museums and cultural centers in Europe.

For three years, the iconic building has undergone a process of restoration  to correct damage caused by erosion over time, multiple uses and modifications to the original design and structure.
