President of the International Boxing Association Visiting Cuba

HAVANA TIMES — Ching-Kuo Wu, the president of the International Boxing Association, will visit Cuba in January, according to an announcement this week from the federation of that sport here on the island.

Cuban authorities are still detailing the work agenda of the Taiwanese official, though they have not specified the exact dates of his stay here. Nevertheless, they have described his upcoming visit as “significant for the prospects of Cuban and international boxing,” according to a statement by Radio Havana Cuba.

Cuban boxers won two gold medals at the 2012 London Olympic and two gold titles at the recent World Junior Championships in Yerevan, Armenia.
