HAVANA TIMES – As subtropical storm Alberto heads north with an expected landing on Monday somewhere in the Florida Panhandle, rains persist in the capital extending through the western and central Cuban provinces.
At 4:00 Cuba time (EDT) on Sunday Alberto had maximum sustained winds of 50 mph and is moving north at a speed of 12 mph.
The center is currently expected to reach land sometime early Monday afternoon, reports the National Hurricane Center in Miami.
The rainfall in Cuba extends from Western Pinar del Rio province to the Villa Clara, Sancti Spirtus and Ciego de Avila in the central part of the country.
