HAVANA TIMES, Nov. 24 –  On the last Sunday of each month, the flowers at the El Jardin de la Gorda Peña open at 4:00 p.m. with all their colors and shades to receive a public anxious to hear the voices and songs of Sara Gonzalez and her guests.

This Sunday the special guest is the group Manguaré.

Founded by the prestigious tres guitar player Pancho Amat, the group is led by bass player Andres Pedroso.

Manguaré brings its audiences a mix of Cuban and Latin American music, including from Cuba: son, rumba, traditional song and danzón, as well as merengue, joropo and samba from other Latin American and Caribbean latitudes.

Pedroso is also a vice-president of the Cuban Association of Writers and Artists (UNEAC) and has shared the stage with several international music figures including:  Andy Montañez (Puerto Rico), Billy Joel (USA), Mercedes Sosa (Argentina), Pablo Milanes (Cuba), and Willy Colon (Panama).

To confirm the holding of a Sara Gonzalez peña on the last Sunday of any month, call the Centro Iberoamericano de la Decima y el Verso Improvisado at 837-5383.
