Silvio Rodriguez Sings for Juarez, Mex.

HAVANA TIMES, Sept. 18 — Cuba’s singer-songwriter Silvio Rodriguez opened the Voices for Juarez concert on Fridaynight in the Mexican border city plagued by violence.

The concert took place at the Benito Juarez Olympic Stadium and also included the Mexican artist Lila Downs and salsero Willie Colon reports El Diario.com.mx.

Silvio was accompanied by the Trio Trovarroco and began his set with the songs ‘En el claro de la luna’, ‘Sueño con serpientes’, ‘Días y flores’ y ‘El elegido’.  He also sang ‘Unicornio’, ‘Te doy una canción’ y ’Santiago de Chile’, ‘Quién fuera’, ‘La maza’ and ‘Ojalá’.

The four-hour concert opened a series of nine musical events during the Chihuahua International Festival.
