Social Networks Festival Convened

HAVANA TIMES — The Estado de SATS project, the “Academia Blogger” project of award-winning blogger Yoani Sanchez, and EBE (a Spanish event on social networks) have announced the holding of a “Festival Clic” in Havana from June 21 to 23.

The festival will “discuss the Internet and citizenship” and “aims to share what we have learned and to reveal our shortcomings,” said Yoani Sanchez, who added that the event “is intended as an action to promote knowledge without ideological prerequisites or [concern about] market trends.”

According to the announcement, the event will take place at the usual site of the Estado de SATS activities in the Havana municipality of Playa, where the theme for the festival is: “Thinking Technology, Projecting It, and Making It Our Own,” with the perspective focusing on those of everyday users as opposed to specialists.
