Southeast Cuba Feels 6.0 Magnitude Earthquake

HAVANA TIMES, Sept. 15 — Southeastern Cuba was shaken by a 6.0 magnitude earthquake off its coast early on Thursday, reported the United States Geological Survey (USGS).

At 8:00 a.m. Cuba time no reports were available about any possible damage.

The earthquake of significant strength was centered 77 miles (124 kilometers) north of Montego Bay, Jamaica, and south of Granma and Santiago de Cuba provinces.

Southeastern Cuba is the one place in Cuba where earth tremors are common, although much weaker than the current one.
