HAVANA TIMES — The Cuban press reports that Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez received on Tuesday two statuettes of virgins from his country to help with his recovery from cancer surgery.

The figurines were delivered by Chavez’s VP, Nicolas Maduro, Foreign Minister Elias Jagua and Attorney General Cilia Flores.

Taken to Chavez in the hospital where he has been recovering for nearly two months was the image of the Virgin del Valle, patron saint of Margarita, Nueva Esparta and the Virgen de Betania, from Cúa in the state of Miranda.
