Tropical Dep. Near Northeastern Cuba

HAVANA TIMES, July 22 — A new tropical depression, the third of the season, formed on Thursday and the disperse storm was centered northeast of Punta Lucrecia, Holguin, noted the Cuban Meteorological Institute at 11:00 a.m. this morning.

The disperse storm has maximum sustained winds of 55 kph (35 mph) and a central pressure of 1008 millibars.

According to Cuban weather experts the storm will continue moving at a speed of at least 24 kph (15 mph) and could become a weak tropical storm in the next 24-48 hours.

INSMET said the next tropical cyclone advisory report will be issued at 6:00 p.m. Cuban time (EST).
