TS Danielle No Threat to Cuba

HAVANA TIMES, Aug. 23 — Tropical Storm Danielle poses no threat to Cuba according to projections from the US National Hurricane Center (NHC).

The storm was located on Monday at some 1,365 kilometers west of Cape Verde islands off the western coast of Africa.  It is expected to reach hurricane status by Tuesday moving west-northwest in the open Atlantic.

Cuba was hit by three major hurricanes in 2008 that dealt a severe blow to the nation’s economy, especially the housing construction program.
