UNESCO Deputy Director to Visit Cuba

HAVANA TIMES — The deputy director-general UNESCO, Pilar Alvarez-Lazo, will make a working visit to Cuba later in the month, the Cuban Foreign Ministry reported today.

The official in charge of the fields of social and human sciences is responding to an invitation from the director of the Office of the Marti Program, Armando Hart.

Alvarez-Lazo will also participate in the “Third International Conference for Equilibrium in the World” and the “Symposium for a Culture of Conservation,” to be held at Havana’s International Conference Center from January 27 to 29.
