HAVANA TIMES — The expansive area of clouds, rain and thunderstorms that was covering much of the country through this past Wednesday will be moving slowly in a northwesterly direction over the coming days. This means that abundant rainfall is expected to occur during the entire upcoming period.
According to the weather forecasting models, conditions have the potential for the development of tropical storms coming from the Yucatan Strait over the next few days. However, we will only be affected by rainfall associated with a likely tropical cyclone in the region.
No development of other cyclonic systems is expected in the next 48 hours.
It is advisable to check the reports issued by Cuba’s INSMET forecast center (in Spanish), or the National Hurricane Center (from the US in English).
High temperatures will range around 29°C (84°F), while minimum temperatures will dip to around 24°C (75°F).
Winds will be moderate and predominantly from the south.
The sea surface temperature will be 28°C (82°F).
Weekly Forecast – valid as of Wednesday / June 20
