Costa Rica Beats Cuba in Soccer Tournament

HAVANA TIMES, Jan 20 — The Costa Rican women’s soccer team beat Cuba 2-0 yesterday in the Olympic Qualifying Tournament between teams from North America, Central America and the Caribbean. The matches are being held in the city of Vancouver, Canada.

According to the Prensa Latina news agency, the Costa Rican team clearly dominated the game and limited the offense of their Cuban rivals.

The team from the island hopes to recover and be in good form by Saturday, when they will take on the Canadian squad for the two remaining places in the Olympics in London, scheduled for this coming July 27 to August 12.
