HAVANA TIMES — A five game exhibition baseball series between Cuba and Nicaragua concluded on Sunday in Managua with the islanders winning 11-4.
The objective of the series was to give the Nicaraguan team some top level practice in its training for a series in November where the Central Americans will try to earn a ticket to the 2013 World Baseball Classic.
Cuba already has its qualification guaranteed.
Nicaragua will play against Brazil, Colombia and host Panamá in that challenge.
Cuba won four of the five exhibition games and one game, on Saturday, resulted in a 1-1 tie.
