Cuban Volleyball Players Travel to Argentina

HAVANA TIMES, April 18 — The Cuban men’s volleyball team will travel to Argentina on Thursday where they will compete against that country’s national team and other local clubs until April 29, reported the Prensa Latina news agency.

The stay in the South American nation will help the athletes prepare to fight for an Olympic ticket in their upcoming matches in Tijuana, Mexico, said coach Orlando Samuels. He added that physically “all of the men are in excellent condition.”

In the absence of Brazil and Argentina in this pre-Olympics skirmish, Cuba will face opponents such as the United States, Puerto Rico and Canada – teams that are among the best on the continent.
