Top Cuban Athletes of 2011 to Be Announced Today

HAVANA TIMES, Dec 26 — The list of the best athletes in Cuba in 2011 will be announced today by the management of the Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER) at the Ciudad Deportiva stadium in Havana.

The recognition is the result of the annual survey of INDER and the Sports Writers Circle, which selects the most outstanding athletes in individual and team disciplines, as well as the “rookie of the year” and the best athlete with a disability.

The performances achieved at the Pan American Games in Guadalajara Mexico this year and other international events have special weight in the nominations.
