HAVANA TIMES, Feb. 12 — Venezuela’s Wilmen Bravo won the third stage of the Vuelta a Cuba cycling competition on the 185 kilometer trek from Santiago de Cuba to Manzanillo. To date the South American competitors have shown their liking for eastern Cuba’s mountainous terrain.
Bravo’s time Thursday was 4:38.58 hours, which lifted him into first place in the general individual classification with 11:03:33 hours, 4 seconds up on Jaime Castañeda (Colombia) and 11 seconds ahead of Raul Granjel (Cuba).
Vuelta a Cuba takes place over a total of 13 stages.
