Alan Gross Suspected of Having Cancer

HAVANA TIMES — American radiologist Alan Cohen is arguing that “Gross has a life-threatening medical problem that isn’t being evaluated according to the standards of modern medicine,” according to Europa Press.

The US physician is basing his assessment on medical tests that the jailed US government operative has undergone in recent months that look at a “mass” on his right shoulder, which his wife Judy saw during her last visit.

“A soft mass in an adult who has lost a lot of weight should be considered malignant until proven otherwise,” said Cohen, recalling that Gross has lost 30 pounds since he was incarcerated in 2009.

Meanwhile, the wife of the convicted smuggler of illegal communications equipment unsuccessfully urged the Cuban government to allow her husband to undergo a medical examination in the US.
