HAVANA TIMES — Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, on Monday in Havana, signed the appointments of fifteen new ambassadors who will serve in various countries, reported EFE.
Communications Minister Enrique Villegas, reporting through the Twitter social network, indicated the designations of the new Venezuela representatives to include Hugo Garcia in Mexico, Javier Arrue in Nicaragua, Alberto Castelar in the Dominican Republic, Amenothep Zambrano in Iran and Delfi Jonathan Velasco in Iraq.
In addition, the president chose Isabel Delgado Arria as ambassador for Mercosur and the Latin American Integration Association, as well as ambassadors in Kenya, Egypt, Gambia, Benin, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mozambique, Belize, Dominica and Grenada.
Chavez has been in Cuba since this past Tuesday to undergo hyperbaric oxygen therapy and physiotherapy related to the cancer against which he has been operated on three times since June 2011.
