Chavez in Cuba to Meet with Castros

HAVANA TIMES, April 15 — Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez traveled early Thursday from Managua to Havana for consultations with his close allies President Raul and Fidel Castro.

Chavez trip to Cuba comes after an afternoon tour Wednesday of the Nicaraguan capital and a prolonged late night six-hour meeting with his counterpart Daniel Ortega.

Cuba and Venezuela were the two founding members of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Americas (ALBA) and Chavez country is Castro’s leading trade partner.
