HAVANA TIMES, Oct. 13 – Cuba went up five places and now ranks 24th among 134 countries in the 2010 World Report on Gender Inequality, released in Switzerland by the World Economic Forum. The island holds outstanding positions in equality levels regarding education, professional labour force and the balance between men and women in parliament, and is only surpassed by Trinidad and Tobago in Latin America and the Caribbean. The world list is headed by Iceland, Noruega, Finland and Sweden, reported IPS.
