HAVANA TIMES — Honduran president Porfirio Lobo Sosa announced yesterday on the occasion of the first meeting on immigration of the Latin America and the Caribbean Community, held in the city of Comayagua, the signing today of a maritime boundary treaty between that Central America country and Cuba.
According to the dpa news agency, Honduran Foreign Minister Arturo Corrales considers the signing of the Treaty in Tegucigalpa to be an opportunity to end the discussion about Caribbean Sea boundaries between the two countries.
Cuba had canceled the signing of the treaty on two previous occasions without explanations, the note said, when it had already been agreed to and announced by Honduras. That last occasion was in April, when Lobo Sosa was going to leave to sign it in Havana.
