Boxscore

Las Tunas had built a 3-1 series lead and appeared cruising towards the semifinals, but Ciego de Avila pitching stopped them cold.

Yander Guevera Morales pitched a complete game on Sunday allowing only four hits and one run.

On Saturday, Vladimir Garcia held the powerful Las Tunas lineup to two runs over eight innings in a 12-2 win.

Yorbis Borroto (2 RBIs) and Lisdey Díaz both homered for Ciego de Avila in game seven off losing pitcher Yoelkis Cruz.

The stage is now set for the semifinal match-ups with Industriales to play Matanzas for the Occidental (Western) Division championship and Granma faces Ciego de Avila in the Oriente (Eastern) Division.

Both series are pegged at the best-of-seven games.

NOTE: On Monday we will be posting a full report on the quarter final playoffs from Peter C. Bjarkman.
