HAVANA TIMES, Feb 3 — The 21st annual International Cuban Book Fair will take place from February 9 to 19 in Havana, though its first activities were already initiated in all of the capital city’s municipalities.
More than 200 guests from 40 countries have confirmed their presence at the event.
After the Havana kick off, the fair will move across the rest of the country until March 4.
This year’s Cuban “book fiesta” is dedicated to the intellectuals Zoila Lapique (the National Social Sciences Award winner) and Ambrosio Fornet (the winner of the National Prize for Literature as well as Caribbean Culture).
The Mexican writer Sergio Pitol (the Cervantes Award winner in 2005), Argentina’s Miguel Bonasso and Brazilian theologian Frei Betto have confirmed their attendance, organizers told Prensa Latina.
