Cuba gets Gold, silver and bronze at world athletics championship

HAVANA TIMES – Pole vaulter Yarisley Silva won a gold medal Sunday at the World Indoor Championships in the Polish city of Sopot, with a clean jump over 4.70 meters, JIT Online reported.

Likewise, triple jumper Ernesto Reve reached 17.33 meters on his second jump, and took the silver metal, while Pedro Pablo Pichardo claimed bronze in the same event with 17.32.

Cuba did not win any titles in Doha 2010. In the official rankings by country, dominated by the US, the island was in 12th place among the 50 participating and seventh place in medals.
