Cuba Men’s Volleyball Team Comes Up Short

HAVANA TIMES — The Cuban Men’s Volleyball team continues to struggle in its bid to return to the Olympic Games.

After finishing third behind the United States and Canada, (both of which the Cubans lost to) in the Norceca (North American) tournament this past week, the Cubans have one more chance to try to qualify for London 2012 if they attend a qualifying tournament in Germany on June 8-10.

To date the teams that have qualified are Great Britain (due to its host status) Russia, Poland, Brazil, Tunisia and the United States.

The highly popular Cuban Women’s Volleyball team is also down to one more chance to qualify for London.  That would come in Japan at a tournament set for May 19-27.
