Cuba MLB Players Earn 92 Million in 2014

HAVANA TIMES — Thirty-two Cubans on Major League Baseball teams will earn a total of $92,180,000 during the 2014 season which began on Monday in the U.S., reported Café Fuerte.

According to statistics from the 30 participating teams, the highest paid Cuban for the third consecutive year is Yoenis Cespedes, who will pocket $10.5 million with the Oakland Athletics.
The total amount to be received by Cubans in 2014 Campaign represents an increase of 24% over 2013.

Céspedes is followed by Chicago White Sox shortstop Alexei Ramirez who salary is $9,500,000. Notably absent from the list is first baseman Kendry Morales who has yet to sign with any team after rejecting a $14 million one year contract with the Seattle Mariners .
