Cuba Phone Co. extends “calling party pays” mode

HAVANA TIMES – The Telecommunications Company of Cuba SA (ETECSA) reported today that, starting next January 10, all calls received from any mobile phone in Cuba will be free of cost.

According to information disclosed by the company, the new mode will also include calls from Alternative Telephones (stationary cell phones).

According to the information, “to be able to include all services supported on the mobile network mode in which only the caller pays deletes the indicative 00 to start numbering and 88 at the end of it.”

Incoming calls are identified by +535, while international remain with the original 00, also at no cost to the recipient.
