Cuban Mass Concert in Havana

HAVANA TIMES – The concert “Cuban Mass”, title of the work composed by noted musician Jose Maria Vitier, will take place on Sunday January 13 at the National Theatre, reported Prensa Latina.

The show directed by Vitier includes singers Barbara Llanes, María Felicia Pérez, Augusto Enriquez and Liuba María Hevia, and will celebrate the 100th presentation of “Cuban Mass” in the world and the number 30 on the island.

Vitier’s work, premiered in 1996 at the Cathedral of Havana, has been performed on stages in the U.S., Canada, Italy, Israel, Portugal, France, Denmark, Switzerland, Ecuador, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Dominican Republic , Trinidad and Tobago and Spain.

To conclude the concert will debut the pieces “At the bottom of your altars” performed by Hevia and “Ave Maria for Cuba”, by Llanes.
