HAVANA TIMES — Cuba submitted a resolution on Monday to the UN Decolonization Committee that reaffirms the right of Puerto Rico to self-determination and independence, reported the Prensa Latina news agency.
The document was submitted by the deputy permanent representative of Cuba to the United Nations, Oscar Gonzalez Leon, and was co-sponsored by Bolivia, Ecuador, Nicaragua and Venezuela.
This is the thirteenth consecutive year that the committee has approved the statement in support of the Puerto Rican people’s independence, this time with the support of all members of the body and the 120 states that make up the Non-Aligned Movement.
