Cuba Reports Low Infant Mortality Rate

HAVANA TIMES, Jan. 4 – Cuba closed 2009 with an infant mortality rate of 4.8 per 1,000 live births, slightly higher than the previous year, which was 4.7, reported IPS. According to data from UNICEF, this figure is the lowest in the hemisphere, including the United States and Canada.
