HAVANA TIMES — Tropical Storm Erika is within 24 hours of entering the eastern Caribbean and Cuba’s Forecast Center (INSMET) issued its second warning with information on the potential path of the storm.

During Tuesday, tropical storm Erika remained with little change in organization and intensity. At 6:00p.m this evening the center was estimated at 15.6 degrees north latitude and 53.1 degrees west longitude, 942 kilometers (585 miles) east of Antigua, in the northern group of the Lesser Antilles.
The tropical storm has maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers (40 mph) per hour, with higher gusts, and a central pressure of 1004 millibars. It continues moving west at a speed of 31 kph (19 mph).
During the next 12 to 24 hours, Erika is expected to tilt to the west-northwest on course for entering the eastern Caribbean Sea by Wednesday evening, decreasing slightly its speed and gaining more in organization and intensity.
The next tropical cyclone warning will be issued at 6:00 on Wednesday afternoon.
