Cuba Suspends Collect Calls to Spain

HAVANA TIMES — The Cuban telephone company (ETECSA) announced that as of January 1, 2013, it will suspend collect-call service to Spain “for commercial reasons.”

According to Europa Press, the measure will take effect here at 6:00 pm on December 31 (or 12:00 am on Jan. 1 in Spain).

ETECSA reminded its users that they will be able to call Spain on their mobile phones and by using prepaid phone cards.
