Cuba to eradicate ozone depleting substances

HAVANA TIMES, Sept. 14 — The UN included Cuba on a list of nine countries with illustrative projects to eliminate the gases that deplete the ozone layer, Nelson Espinosa, director of the Ozone Technical Office (OTOZ), announced. The Caribbean island nation hopes to begin in 2011 the destruction of 130 tons of stored refrigerating gases, reported IPS.
