Cuba to Provide Home Improvement Subsidies

HAVANA TIMES, Jan 4 — The Cuban government will begin providing subsidies to low-income families for home improvements, reported the Granma newspaper on Thursday.

The rules and regulations pertaining to this program will take effect on January 15, while responding to the government’s decision to eliminate excessive subsidies, according to the Gaceta Oficial.

The initiative will mainly benefit those families affected by catastrophes or natural disasters like hurricanes, as well as those people who live in at-risk conditions due to poverty.
