Cuban 3D Film Coming to a Dozen Countries

HAVANA TIMES — Distribution companies from a dozen countries, including the USA, signed contracts for the distribution of Meñique (Pinkie), the first Cuban animated 3D feature film, its producers today confirmed to Prensa Latina.

Directed and written by Ernesto Padrón, the film was released last Sunday in the Cuban capital.

Julio Casal, director of the Galician company Fiction Productions, said the film will also be screened in France, South Korea, Germany and several Middle Eastern countries; while the copy to be released in Spain, was dubbed by actors in this country using fewer Cubanisms and “a more universal script,” said the director.

In contradiction with these “adjustments” various actors involved with the initial tape defended the original dialogues and situations faced by Meñique.
