HAVANA TIMES, March 13 — The Cuban Film Institute (ICAIC) foresees several co-productions and collaborations with national and international institutions this year, reported the Prensa Latina news agency.
ICAIC is working with Cuban television on the film Los desastres de la guerra (The Disasters of War), by Thomas Piard; while the RTV Comercial company is currently filming Rudy Mora’s Leontine as well as Carmela, by Ernesto Darana.
ICAIC is also presently engaged in collaborative efforts with Venezuela, though these are limited to the participation of Cuban technicians in the film production process in that South American country.
Last year the Cuban institution produced only three full-length movies with several more planned.
