Cuban Movie Selected for Berlin Festival

HAVANA TIMES — The film La piscina, by Cuban director Carlos Machado Quintela, has been selected for the “Panorama Section” of the 63rd annual Berlin International Film Festival, to be held from February 7 to 17 in that capital.

According to the website Noticine, the film will be accompanied by three other debuting Latin American works: Deshora and Habi, la extranjera, both from Argentina; and Tanta Agua, from Uruguay.

La piscine (the swimming pool), which premiered in Havana this past June, is a day-in-the-life story of a swimming teacher and his students, some with physical or mental disabilities.
