HAVANA TIMES — A downloadable version of the online EcuRed Cuban encyclopedia is currently being developed for mobile phones, reported the Cuban News Agency.
“This is an abridged version of the one currently used in educational institutions on the island,” said Iroel Sanchez, the EcuRed coordinator for the Ministry of Informatics and Communications.
Sanchez added that this alternative of what’s currently used in schools will be a “very good opportunity for people without Internet access” as it “can be copied onto USB flash drives or CDs.”
