Cuban National Ballet to Perform in Mexico

HAVANA TIMES – The National Ballet of Cuba (BNC) will perform on October 22-23 in the Fall season of the Annual Cultural Festival of the Arts of the State of Yucatan, Mexico, at the Merida Manzanero Theater.

According to Prensa Latina, the company will perform Coppelia, with the leading roles played by Viengsay Valdes, Amaya Rodríguez, Víctor Estévez, Adrian Molina, Felix Rodriguez and Ernesto Diaz.

Since its founding in 1948, the director of the BNC, Alicia Alonso, chose Coppelia, one of the most famous works of the standard repertoire of classical ballet, to integrate the company’s repertoire.
