Cuban Wrestler Mijain Lopez Wins 5th World Title

HAVANA TIMES – Cuba’s Mijain Lopez reached his fifth world championship title on Saturday, taking the 130kg division of Greco-Roman style in Tashkent.

The twice Olympic champion defeated Turkey’s Kayaalp Riza 2-0, who had beaten him in the final of the World Championship at Istanbul 2011.

Lopez went undefeated the event defeating Tajik Murodjon Tuychiev (10-2), the German Eduard Popp (8-0), the Iranian Behram Mehdizadeh (6-0) and Russian Bilial Makhov (1-0).

The tournament ended on Sunday at the Sports Palace Uzbekistan capital.
