HAVANA TIMES — Eight Cuban boat people heading to the United States, including two children, ended their journey on the Caribbean coast of Honduras due to bad weather having changed their route, EFE reported.
A spokesperson for the Honduran Department of Immigration said the group (made up of two children, three women and three men) landed on the coast bordering Nicaragua on November 28 and arrived in the city of Ceiba this past Monday.
According to information from the Cubans themselves, they left the island on November 10 in a makeshift boat with the idea of reaching the USA.
So far this year, more than 500 Cubans have arrived in Honduras, according to figures from local authorities.
