Cuba’s Eliades Ochoa to Perform in Mexico

HAVANA TIMES — The Cuban guitarist and “sonero” musician Eliades Ochoa, a member of the Buena Vista Social Club, announced that he will give several concerts in Mexico starting the second half of January.

The musician will travel first to Veracruz with his group “Patria” to appear in the “Fiesta de Candelaria,” and will later sing in Mexico City where his work “has been recognized and acclaimed,” according to AFP.

The 66-year-old artist, who last November won his first Latin Grammy with the album A Bolero para ti” in the category of Best Tropical Album, is considered one of the most important Cuban son musicians of all time.
