Danish Jazz Band Acts in Cuba

HAVANA TIMES — The Big Band Ribe, a jazz and concert band from Denmark, performed on Tuesday at the Casa de la Guayabera, located in the central province of Sancti Spiritus, reported the Prensa Latina news agency.

The Danish group, currently composed of 19 musicians between the ages of 19 and 73 years, will be playing in Cuba from October 15 to 25 after having been invited here by the La Colmenita children’s theater company.

So far the Big Band Ribe has also performed at the House of Culture in the town of Trinidad. After their performance in Sancti Spiritus, however, they will visit the Ernesto “Che” Guevara Memorial in Villa Clara.

The band, which had previously visited the island in 2007, will complete its tour in Havana at the ALBA Cultural House, invited by the group Moncada.
